Orange County has initiated an areawide traffic operational study in the Williamsburg area. The study area is bounded by South Florida Water Management District to the south, the Beachline Expressway (S.R. 528) to the north, the Wingate Village Club Utility Easement to the west, and Shingle Creek to the east. The study will include:
The main objective of this study is to identify and analyze speeding, cut through traffic, and other safety issues to improve operations, safety, and maintenance within the area. The study shall develop a prioritized list of regional roadway improvements as well as intersection improvements, transit, pedestrian, and bicycle enhancements.
The Technical traffic analysis will provide valuable information in the determination of transportation needs and operational deficiencies through the collection and model analysis of traffic data.
The study plan will serve in the short term as a guide for capital improvement expenditures.
Final report has been drafted and is in the review process.
Orange County has held 3 community meetings on this project. Comments collected at the meeting and the weeks following have been taken into consideration for the final report.
