Collection Delays:
Orange County Utilities is aware some customers are experiencing curbside collection delays. There are a number of factors contributing to the situation, including contractor challenges due to a shortage of available trained staff, both locally and nationwide, due to COVID-19. Our solid waste contract haulers are working diligently to catch up by picking up your garbage, recyclables, yard waste, and large items outside of their typical schedule.
Please know that Orange County Utilities staff is committed to restoring the expected level of customer service through daily contact with our contractors and holding them contractually accountable to ensure collection schedules return to normal as soon as possible.
What to do if you have a missed pickup?
If service was missed at your residence, please email Solid.Waste@ocfl.net with your address, contact information, and the materials you have at the curb. Alternatively, you may call the Solid Waste Hotline (407-836-6601) Monday – Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Due to the collection delays, our office is handling high call volumes, which may mean longer than normal wait times. We’re sorry for the inconvenience—please hold on the line and one of our representatives will assist you as quickly as possible.
