2024 Mayor's Jazz in the Park

  • Orange County Parks and Recreation is accepting applications from talented jazz performers for Mayor’s Jazz in the Park on Saturday, March 2, 2024, to perform between 3-6 p.m. for 30-, 45-, 60-, 90- or 120-minute sets. The 12th annual event will be at Cypress Grove Park, 290 Holden Avenue, Orlando. Please complete the survey with your information by Sunday, October 1 at 5 p.m.: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/Jazz2024Performers. If you have questions, please email parks@ocfl.net. *Applicants must be professional performers with five years or more of paid experience.*

  • Kelly Park's Cardboard Canoe Regatta team registration is open until Thursday, September 28, at 5 p.m., cost: $50 per team (limited to 16 teams). Teams of five may register to build and race a cardboard and duct tape canoe, with all cardboard and duct tape provided by park staff. Racing participants must be 12 years or older; “boat artists” may be under 12 and are not included in team-member count. On Saturday, October 14, boat building starts at 8:30 a.m. with race at 1 p.m. Teams race their canoes in the clear, chilly 68-degree waters of Rock Springs beginning at 1 p.m., with prizes awarded to Race Winner, Crowd Favorite and Most Spectacular Sinking!
